  • Online version of a short entry encyclopedia, year 2000 edition.

  • This database is a Center of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law of the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, provides links to full text documents and articles. You may access without login name and password.


  • LEXICOOL

  • Lexicool is primarily a directory of "all" the online bilingual and multilingual dictionaries and glossaries freely available on the Internet. It is a resource intended for translators, linguists, language students and all those interested in foreign languages. It is a Bi- and Multi-Lingual translation for 60 languages including English, Swahili, French, Greek, and Hebrew.

  • The database has a Very comprehensive list of legal resources available for most countries on the web, for free. No Constitution for Zanzibar - it can be found at Special Reserve. This is the site US legislators use when they need information.


  • MARKETING VIRTUAL LIBRARY

  • This is an Online marketing textbook with links to full text articles and training modules for profit and non-profit organizations.


  • MATHEMATICS VIRTUAL LIBRARY

  • The database contains a collection of mathematics resources maintained by Florida State University Department of Mathematics. It has an online mathematics texts and extensive full text material on teaching mathematics at all levels.


  • NEW YORK UNIVERSITY OF LAW, FOREIGN COLLECTIONS BY JURISDICTION

  • Links to other collections - not many English speaking Africa resources, but some useful dictionaries are found here.


  • OARE Database

  • Online Access to Research in the Environment (OARE), an international public-private consortium coordinated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Yale University, and leading science and technology publishers, enables developing countries to gain free access to one of the world's largest collections of environmental science literature.


  • ONELOOK DICTIONARY

  • Includes over 5,000,000 words in 963 dictionaries.


  • PortalLivRe!

  • Nuclear Information Center (Brazil) maintains a portal to ease the identification and access to free journals available on the Internet. It is the Portal LivRe! (Free!), nowadays registering 2,525 free journals. There is a multi-lingual search interface allowing the use of Portuguese, English and Spanish. No User name and password required.

  • ROGET'S THESAURUS

  • The database contains complete dictionary look up, encyclopedias, almanacs web directory, thesaurus etc. It has language resources such as grammar, usage, etc. It has also a translator feature that translates texts instantly.


  • The Royal Society Publishing

  • The Royal Society is the independent scientific academy of the UK and the Commonwealth dedicated to promoting excellence in science. The Society plays an influential role in national and international science policy and supports developments in science engineering and technology in a wide range of ways.


  • SAGE Publications

  • SAGE Publications publishes over 460 journals in Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine. SAGE Journals Online is the delivery platform that provides online access to the full text of individual SAGE journals. The SAGE Full-Text Collections, SAGE's award-winning, discipline-specific research databases, are also available on SAGE Journals Online.

  • Tanzania Online is a gateway to information on development issues in Tanzania.   • General research database that covers subject areas from art and literature to economics and the sciences.


  • Wiley InterScience

  • Provides access to the full text of over 500 leading scientific, technical, medical, and professional journals.


  • Wikipedia free encyclopedia

  • Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia that any one can edit. It has about 1,793 articles in English.


  • WILSONWEB

  • Wilsonweb database provides access to applied science, business, education, humanities and legal periodicals full texts.


  • WORLD LEGAL INFORMATION INSTITUTE

  • WLII is a free, independent and non-profit legal research facility made up of an international group of participants. Exhaustive list of web resources available for British, Australian and European law and legislation. A couple of databases for South African law available here.


  • YENZA Database

  • Yenza is a guide to using the Internet for research and teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. It has very useful research information and some are full text. No Password required.


  • UNESCO-EOLSS ON-LINE

  • The EOLSS is an integrated compendium of Sixteen Encyclopedias, regarded as the largest on-line publication carrying knowledge for our times. It is a virtual dynamic library equivalent to about 200 volumes in size with contributions from thousands of scholars from over 100 countries and edited by about 300 subject experts.

  • The database has very useful research tools. It includes Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Almanacs, Quotations, Directories, Maps, Miscellaneous references and Style/Citation manuals

This database contains the collection of the electronic researches, dissertations and thesis of IUCo students and academic staff. The database is searchable using of the authors' names, titles of the works and year of completion of the work. The researches are in the PDF.
